Once again – how is that family history coming along?  Put your pen to work while you are relaxing at the lake or better yet pull out that laptop.  And no, you are not too late – the deadline has been extended -

Community ladies are reminded to send squares for Jenna Jorgenson’s wedding July 28.  We are all grateful for this small gesture from our community, please leave your squares at the hall bynoonJuly 28 if you are away.

Moms & tots are continuing to meet throughout the summer Tuesday mornings at the hall @10am, come out for a visit – everyone welcome!  (Note – change of venue as unfortunately the rain water seems to have taken over the curling basement.)

And speaking of water in the curling rink basement  appreciation goes out to dedicated community volunteers Sheldon, Cory, Joan, Don, Riley & Branden for their many hours spent in rubber boots getting the water out, setting up pumps etc.  Evergreen Environmental (Ryan Hagens’ crew) spent some time digging up the saturated ground to hopefully take the water ‘away’ from the building.  And no – we are NOT complaining about the rain!

Conny & Shane Hertz with help from daughter Melissa Kroeger organized a family reunion for descendants of Nick & Rose Hertz.  The 80 + family members travelled to Sheerness for the long weekend coming from New Brigden, Oyen, Monitor, Esther, Okotoks, Calgary, Medicine Hat, Duchess, Red Deer, Strathmore, Spruce Grove, Drumheller & Didsbury in Alberta and more family members travelling from Major & Saskatoon SK.  Weather was fabulous for the young & young at heart to venture out on the water for skiing, wake boarding & sun tanning.  Lots of visiting & food made the 4 days go by fast, with everyone vowing to do it again soon!

Lucille & Sheldon along with Nichole, Travis & Ridge Foot from Esther all travelled to the family reunion meeting up with Nelson Hertz & Jana Brausen fromRed Deer.

Also spotted soaking up the sun @ Sheerness from New Brigden was The Hagens families, Erwin, Carol, Presten, Sarah, Osten, Gavin, Ryan, Simone, Eva & Alaina.  Joining theHagensfor a day was Farrah & Dean Williams & family from Arrowwood.
